His Dark Materials

I've just finished reading Pullman's His Dark Materials and was amazed that he was able to get away with a Young Adult category.

Nothing about the trilogy is childish, I'm not saying that the young adult/children's category is childish I'm just amazed that it hasn't caused more uproar other than the religion angle.

I love Lyra and Will especially Will who was thrust into a situation that's beyond everything he's ever encountered and still manage to function.

But I don't think I like the third book much, sure it was interesting but I was uncomfortable with all of Pullman's anvils about religion.

The worldbuilding of Lyra's world was wonderful and the daemons were inspired. I wish I have my own daemon!

Lord Asriel and Mrs. Coulter were interesting, Mrs. Coulter more so than Asriel.

That's it for now, too sleepy for coherent thoughts.
