January Talking Meme #14 - What are your most favorite and least favorite things about crossovers?

For terapsina

I love crossovers, like a lot. I love smooshing of my favorite shows and characters together, and see how they'd react.

It's like watching dominos fall except I don't know the outcome! Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Although reading crossovers is more fun that way!

One of my least favorite things about crossovers is how the characters suddenly become out of character, or you have a sneaking suspicion the only reason why they wrote the crossover is to show how superior the characters from the other show is. There is no equal amount of awesome going around.

Also, there are just some shows that are easy to be... as they used to say, the black dress of crossovers i.e., Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, the Stargate franchise, and it's not limited to sci-fi/fantasy, I've seen Criminal Minds in a lot of crossovers.

And, I love reading people react to Buffy, the SG teams, the Criminal Minds team or the Criminal Minds team reacting to the other characters in a different show.

comments

[WIP] Untitled 1/?. Elementary/Person of Interest

So. This was something, I have a vague idea where it will lead to. I’ve made a commitment to share snippets. Crossover between Person of Interest/Elementary.
Details and plots may change. Work in Progress. Inspired by this crossover vid
—

Crossposted from tumblr.

comments
