It's going to get very cold in here...
Just came from watching X Men 2.
Wow. I am blown away. I will watch that over and over and over and over again.
I'm an unabashed Wolverine and Rogue shipper, especially after reading Jenn's Jus Ad Bellum. You're never a true believer until you've experienced hell. Marie and Logan are so right, in that universe. Heck, in this universe.
But since the real ship does not focus on the W/R angle I live in the glorious world of subtext.
Scenes I particularly loved was, the moment Rogue sensed Wolvie, there was that confusion and then clear understanding before the joy. She pulls away from Bobby, and then there.
She didn't even think it was true, but there he was. Standing in his leather jacket, with the frown that never seemed to leave his face.
How can I forget, when Mystique changed into Rogue, right on top of Wolverine, from what I heard there was supposedly a scene where Rogue kisses Wolvie but they had that cut. *sigh*.
I could really go on with my fave W/R moments but... There are other things to talk about.
Like the scene, where almost everyone was gathered in the campfire with Magneto and Mystique and eventhough Rogue was curious she was delibrately putting some space between her and Magneto.
I also loved how Rogue keeps away from Magneto, and her apparent anger and willingness to use her powers against him. This was a man who almost killed her, trying to make her into an unwilling martyr for the Mutant cause.
A point though, I didn't like was Wolvie's casual acceptance of Magento, tho, I kinda figured he'd act a whole lotta angry. And I kinda thought Rogue wouldn't be sleeping peaceful that all the nightmares of the personalties in her head would appear.
Lots of things to love in the movie. And, whoa, Jean is the Phoenix! The next movie will definetly deal with Phoenix, the embodiment of fire and song.
Now I have to wait for X3! At least with Lord of the Rings, I know when it would end, but the X-men? It could go on and on, and it'll be torture waiting for them all. *sigh* I am such a fan!
Other cool aspects would be, when Rogue takes Pyro's power to stop him from attacking the police. Very effective, but the fall out from that was never explored. A pity.
But, damn, Pyro is fine, almost but not quite pulled Wolvie from the top spot. And oh! Nightcrawler!
I'm a Storm and Nightcrawler shipper from now on---
Oh, just shoot me!
Man and Magneto is really convincing isn't he? But, really, Pyro was kinda heading that way...
