Dancing to the tune
There's a meme going around about unpopular opinions. I find I only have one:
I like Relena Peacecraft. I even ship Relena with Heero. There I said it.
I never understood the hate towards Relena, yeah she's done some crazy things but she's not alone in doing crazy, illogical things.

I haven't caught up with Buffy Season 8, before it started I was defending Joss & Co. for their decision to continue and while there are some wonderful moments the comic just doesn't feel right to me.
One of the reasons I gave for my ambivalence to Buffy S8 is how it seemed the cast never learn their lessons and while the conflict (internal and external) against the Slayer Army is interesting its I feel they've missed an opportunity regarding the Slayer Army.
Reading Claymore actually made the point a lot clearer, its almost the same situation: a group of supernaturally powered female warriors under a command of a male-centric organization. It's the Slayer Army situation done in the times when the Council of Watchers still existed and dealing with the issues without blinking.
My second reason is pretty shallow: Buffy's affair with another slayer who isn't Faith. It's just... it doesn't compute! Buffy seemed straight to me and the only person that brings out the femslash vibes is with Faith. Also, it would have made a lot more sense if it was Faith she had an affair with and not some random slayer.
The decision also felt like shamelessly pandering to me although this feeling isn't limited to the comic I felt like one of the reasons why BtVS went off track (for me) is Spike had outstayed his welcome. I didn't like how the show became Spike-centric the last few seasons. I mean, Buffy/Angel had three seasons but I never felt like the other characters were sidelined.
Um. that's beside the point, my main point would be this: until I hear good things about Buffy S8 I don't think I'll follow it.
Buffy S8 has joined the ranks of Bleach I'll only read it when something interesting finally happens.

On the other hand Fullmetal Alchemist continues to make my heart sing. I just can't express the awesomeness Arakawa keeps piling on. I'm in awe of her pacing, her fight scenes never bore me unlike Bleach. Tite Kubo should take the time to look over FMA's fight scenes and study it because that's how its done.
And what awesomeness am I referring to?
Izumi Curtis finally meets up with General Olivia Armstrong that's what! Yes, its finally happened! And ZOMG the awesome just keeps on bringing more awesome! There are not enough words for that encounter so in lieu of words I give you scans!

Now that's what you call a dynamic entry!

ZOMG! The meeting of the two giants! General Olivia Armstrong and Izumi Curtis!

Hahahaha I think this is the first time Oliva's ever been shocked! Hahahaha

Let's not forget Sig, Izumi's loving musclebound husband who is....

BFFs with Maj. Armstrong. Bonding through sparkling and muscles!

A world record! Izumi's shocked Oliva twice! Hee. I knew Izumi and Olivia were destined to be great friends simply by their sheer awesomeness!
Arakawa loves us all!
Plus, Manga!Hohenheim is awesome and 100x better than anime!Hohenheim!

I recently saw Push, I wanted to watch it in the theater but I somehow missed it and watching the DVD makes me wish I saw it on the bigscreen. Yes, its an X-Men knockoff so is Heroes and Mutant-X but y'know what? I don't care. It was awesome.
I love the psychic vs. psychic battle they had and also there was the oh, so fabulous Djimon Honsou. It was a missed opportunity that they cast Samuel L. Jackson as a jedi and not Djimon. Jackson is badass but he doesn't exude the... jedi calm. Djimon, on the other hand, does.
Dakota Fanning continues to be a fantastic actress and when she grows up I'd be very interested to see her in a role where she becomes a badass spy. 'Cause she could so nail it.
Another aspect I liked was here, the heroes aren't that good with their powers, they were second generation and barely using their powers well. Its their powers who were badass not them.
Kira (Camilla Belle), she was the weakest aspect of the movie. Dakota acted rings around her and Kira had no chemistry with Nick (Chris Evans).
And, oh man, I'll go to the special hell for this but I saw more chemistry between Cassie (Dakota) and Nick. It shouldn't be possible, in the movie Cassie is canonically 13 years old. A precocious 13 year old but still! Its badwrong! And yet...
*facepalm*
The other thing I found problematic was the ending. I suppose the filmmaker was trying to show that it was a good development but I just found it disturbing. Also, I would have liked it better if Kira really was a volunteer for the Division; and it does explain why she could beat up the doctors and that guy. I think it would have made the movie more interesting if they just let that part be.
