Doppelganger hijinx ensue!

Vampire Diaries 2x04 - Memory Lane

I am officially calling Thursday, or Fridays for me, Doppelganger Fridays since there's much doppelganger hijinx in Vampire Diaries and Fringe. Katherine remains awesome and of course she would eliminate her weakness against Vervain.

Every proof we have that she's stronger than brothers are making me laugh with delight!

Also, I will give her that she felt something for Stefan and one of the reasons she's in Mystic Falls is Stefan but it's not the reason. I really believe it has something to do with Elena.

My crazy theory for why Elena and Katherine looking alike is because Katerina had a twin sister.

I continue to not care about Damon and all his actions just seem to screw everything up even more.

I do hope Caroline breaks from Katherine, she's so much more fantastic as being her own BAMF vampire.

Team Stefan/Elena remains solidly awesome! Also, Stefan = is awesome in his ruthlessness. He is sneaky. Someone in LJ mentioned that the reason why Stefan is scarier than Damon is because he will sit down and do that and make his plan work.

It almost works on Katherine except Katherine's been around a while and knows all the tricks in the books the brothers are just learning about.

I was looking around LJ for Fringe posts and stumbled into [livejournal.com profile] rocxmblover post making a very convincing visual argument re: Olivia's escape as an homage to Sarah Connor's escape from the mental instituion in the Terminator 2 movie.

Also, Olivia's walk from locking up Linc and shooting the Fringe Division guys? Very Terminator like... there's a reason why she's called the Dunhamnator!

Riddle me this... is the Olivia above ourLivia or altLivia? It could be ourLivia with the way the hair is pulled back and the jacket is more in style of ourLivia... plus her hair is lightening to blond. On the other hand, it could be that altLivia is slowly turning into ourLivia.

...on second thought this has to be ourLivia. That look in her eyes, that haunted look it has to be our Olivia. She's baaaaaaaaack!

And, seems to be on the run? Or is she back Over Here? I can't wait to find out! I'm sure the writers will throw us a curve ball somehow.

I think I should pick-up The Mentalist again I sort of let the second season pass by but... I hope The Mentalist hasn't become the Patrick Jane show? Because as much as I love Simon Baker I don't think I can watch a whole season of Jane's antics alone.

I should also finish watching Legend of the Seeker it's sooo good but I haven't had time to buy the DVDs yet.

Those are definitely on my 'To Watch' list though!

TBH, the second season is worth missing mostly. But the first two episodes of season three have been aces.

Well... the first half of the season had some good stuff. There was an arc that ends at 2x08 that it would be worth catching. But even then there's a lot that's skippable/highly irritating. I could make a list of the Good Eps?

At any rate, they pretty clearly (and, for once, artfully!) telegraph what happened last season in the first ep of s3, so I wouldn't worry about jumping right in.

Mentalist Season 2 - The Good Eps

[personal profile] mswyrr 2010-10-02 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
2x01 - Redemption
[To set up the Bosco arc]

2x03 - Red Badge
[Because it is the. best. Lisbon episode. Srsly.]

2x07 - Red Bulls
[Excellent Bosco stuff! This Arc was GOOD]

2x08 - His Red Right Hand
[Sweeps episode, conclusion of arc]

2x10 - Throwing Fire
[Jane has backstory! And it is goooood]

2x19 - Blood Money
[Good Lisbon & Jane stuff -- only really necessary if that's your sort of thing]

The rest of it is missable and some downright painful and all the important stuff will be explained pretty well in s3 anyway.

Oh! And Cho got a backstory episode: 2x14 - Blood In Blood Out. It wasn't terribly good, but if you're a Cho fan, it would be worth seeing for Tim Kang's work alone.

Thanks for the guide!

You're welcome! Um, one more thing: I'm thinking maybe I should have included the s2 finale on the list, not because it's that good, but because there's a visceral scene in the s3 primere that works off it, IDK. Hmmm.

And, yes, I would like Cho backstory, I love Cho!

Awesome. :) Cho gets to be very cool and badass there!
monanotlisa: Bonnie Bennet doing, well. A spell by herself. :) (spell - vd)

...no wait, what - twin sister? As in: Elena IS that twin sister? Who has, what, selective amnesia of her past life, and implanted ring, and slightly limper hair? ;) ELABORATE!

I miss Bonnie, and now that you've mentioned it - ugh, that'd be terrible, and a disappointment in a show that gave the three teen girls layers so far...
