[picspam] and when she smiles
Do you know what I love? Aside from Life, that is? VLC media player. That's right. VLC. Before this program I didn't know how to screencap, then I discovered VLC and a few months ago discovered it has a snapshot *and* slow motion function. I can cap a scene and watch it again, slo mo and discover a lot of things.
Watching Dani make faces real time is fun but watching Dani Reese make faces in slow motion is more fun! Also, you discover a lot of things watching certain things in slow motion.
Reese took a while before she came to like Charlie and despite her crankiness towards him and sometimes, despite herself, finds him very amusing. Here are a few caps I culled showing Dani getting amused with Charlie.
Merit Badge

It seemed like the partnership was doomed from the start, something Davis was counting on so she could easily get rid of Crews, Reese seemed inclined to agree especially after his careless comments about divorce papers in the mail and informing the grieving dad to dump his marijuana stash. His methode with the dog didn't impress her either but when Charlie started spouting Zen at the guards instead of clocking them,Reese is suddenly impressed despite herself.
Tear Asunder

Ha. Love this scene very much, after making sure Charlie's going to make it, Reese looked happy. She zapped her partner with 900,000 volts of electricity and got away with it. It's the memory that helps her deal with Charlie in his particularly annoying days.

See? She's not at all sorry for zapping him, in fact she's very, very amused and must be snickering inside. After all, it was only 900,000.
Let Her Go

The episode where they really gel as a team. Also, Reese over hears Charlie's conversation with Ted and becomes amused with the topic.

The knife bonding thing! She takes away his knife and starts good natured jibes to ease the sting.

Heh. I loved her smirk as she walked away. Really shows that he's not the only one who likes to mess with his partner's head.
What They Saw

She seems very amused that he's so gullible when it comes to drunks.

Hahaha. Poor Dani just as she's enjoying her day Easley breathes on her.
There's a thing I've noticed, every time Reese starts smiling at/because of Charlie and forgets to pay attention to her surroundings something always happens to her. Always.
My theory is, Reese forgetting to pay attention to her surroundings could only lead to interesting things happening to her.
The Fallen Woman

Reese is unexpectedly charmed by Charlie's angel comments

hee. I like how happy she was at throwing out Charlie's plastic angel.

So... my theory? Example no. 2: Reese really seemed amused by Charlie's interrogation tactics and how he handled deflecting Roman's leading statements and smiles at Charlie forgetting to pay attention to Roman. Unfortunately, Roman was paying too much attention to her.
Powerless

You know what this is? This is my white flag of surrender. This is me, conceding defeat. I don't know how anyone can come away from this and not think, that some day Reese and Crews would be very good together. I love how amused they both are after such a harrowing experience. I love how she looks at him when he isn't looking and the way he smiles at her 'that's zen, isn't it, Crews?'

And she just continues to smile at him even when she's in the ambulance.

And he smiles right back at her, happy with his world that he's partner's safe.
A Civil War

Okay, getting a cap of her smiling just a teensy bit was harder than I thought but trust me, there was a smile there. I think. Hey, look at the coffee cups!
Farthingale

Aww... I love how cute she was trying to get Crews back to the Farthingale case by throwing the IRS tidbit. I get the feeling she doesn't like the IRS very much, probably really hates the tax season. Also, I love Reese's solution to any problem is to ignore it and work more.

'I don't want to go back to prison.'
'I can understand that.'
I love her little smile. She might not have wanted to get involve with Crews' conspiracy problems at that point but she gets what he means and tries to get him out of thinking about his problems too much by focusing him on another problem they can fix.
Serious Control Issues

This episode was just chock full of unexpected partnershippery moments from the couch talk to Reese turning down Davis' offer, to Reese returning Charlie's knife. They've come a long way as partners.
Dig A Hole

I love how she's more open (as open as she can be) and relaxed enough that she could smile at him at anytime.

Another smile, this time she's amused by Charlie pretending to be an investor

See? The smile continues. Okay, normally I'd save this for my Dig A Hole picspam but when I noticed this, I couldn't help adding. So, about my theory... Charlie's enjoying the attentions of the blond and Dani's smiling at Crews, forgetting to pay attention to her surroundings again which of course means---

Something unexpected will happen to her...

...like random girl kissage. I love how the other girl just grabs her by the lapels of her tough leather jacket and hauls her in, taking her completely off guard. This is what comes of not paying attention to surroundings and smiling at Charlie, Dani.
Hahaha look at the expression on Dani's face, she's all wha--?

It's all in the eyes. She has no idea what the other woman's up to until--

--the other woman lays one on Dani, who's brain still hasn't caught up with her. Also, it's hilarious how long it took Charlie to notice what's happening to his partner.

And now, her mind's caught up with her and she's thinking: 'I'm being kissed! What?'

The kiss finally ends, with a still very surprised and amused Dani.

I love how they simultaneously turn and look at each other with similar bewildered and bemused expressions.

And then simultaneously taking a deep, bracing breath, with the same expressions still. But with Dani's bordering a little on @_@
These two, I just want to smush them together.

And they continue their routine in the interrogation room, where as one reviewer called it, they begin to play snarky cop and snarkier cop.
Another thing I noticed about Reese is that she wears the same set of shirts, I like that she doesn't have incredibly expensive and oh, so beautiful shirts she just wears what she already has in the closet, which are all functional, work day clothes. Like
raincitygirl said, she's busy, she doesn't have time to go shopping around for clothes. She's not like Charlie who can afford to buy new suits everyday.
