blinky-eyed
May. 15th, 2003 09:34 pmI'm very sleepy, another occasion for family reunion, in my family it happens frequently. Again, apologies, cousin I'm hijacking your computer:)
My dad arrived yesterday after six weeks in Bangladesh (he's a pilot working overseas), my aunt arrived the same day (she's an aunt from overseas) ergo: celebration. My family also loves to eat with zest and passion typical of families but in our case it's almost elevated to an art form.
I had an essay in my head, a whole big damn essay but I'm too sleepy to articulate my thoughts, outside in the corridors my little sibs and cousins are running around, laughing, eating but thankfully not screaming. I've also updated my bogger, just about damn time. Not much in, though. If any is interested it's here.
I wonder would Buffy be better if they followed the UK style of television Mr. Gaiman had a point that having a TV series play all year would burnout actors, writers and crew and even the viewers. Quality of the shows would even go up, maybe the rollercoaster that is the season 7 (I have no actual experience of this as my country is a season late, but I've read the wildfeeds and the mutant allies review.) Just a thought.
Another thought: writers have to be honest. Brutally honest with themselves, even if it hurts that's how good authors become good authors. It's the truth, it's even their life and they're not afraid to face it.
