Overall the movie, big disappointement, the changes they made in the movie hindered the movie in the very big way. The complexity and ambigousness was gone replaced by wham bam effects and thin, very thin story.

The characters which made Alan Moore's comic extraordinary were flat. The Tom Sawyer addition made no sense at all, he's the token American, token stereotypical American.

I used to loathe Stewart Townsend but my God, he can suddenly act! Shane West was ehhh... everytime he appeared it was just plain wrong, and for John's sake man, get hair cut!

Peta Wilson made an impact, but the writers really screwed her character royally, in the comic Mina was the leader, tough as nails chick and Peta can deliver that role but the writers... ugh. They just had to make Sean Connery the leader/hero.

Nautilus made it worthwhile, and Stewart Townsend and Peta Wilson and hmmm... that's about it.

*sigh* All the ways Hollywood could destroy a great story here it is.
