Kill Bill 2
Aug. 27th, 2004 11:44 pmI love my icon, it's so purdy... *pets icon*, since its my first beauty I'm gonna be using it for a long, long time...
Kill Bill 2 wasn't as fan inducing as the first volume, but then again what is? KB2 has two disadvantages, it doesn't have Lucy Liu (well, okay, one tiny cameo but still...) and it doesn't have as much engaging characters.
It does have its moments, I especially love the scene where after clawing her way out of the grave she enters this cafe, restaurant? and streaming in with dirt, limping she sits on the table and as casual as you please asks the bewildered waiter for a drink of water. Hah!
But on the whole, vol. 2 suffers from coming after a spectacularly cool movie where there were a lot of engaging characters and a set-up that was just amazing.
Vol. 1 had O-ren's history, Hattori Hanzo, Go-go Yubari, the crazy 88, Sophie Fatale and killer music.
Vol. 2 sadly only had Elle and Bill, Budd was... Budd.
It really was meant to be one movie and I can't wait for the release of the special edition, I think Tarantino mentioned that the special edition would be edited differently from the theatrical release ala Lord of the Rings.
