ishtar descending

recently, i find myself more and more fascinated with sumerian/akkadian literature and was drawn in by one, sovay's translation of ishtar's (innana's sumerian counterpart) into the underworld, but well all my readings of her is woefully limited to sovay's translations and, well, wikipedia

i love mythology, i love origin stories, i most especially love dragging well-formed characters into hell and breaking them and making them claw their way out of hell and into the light. yes, i am sadistic to my characters (orignal and otherwise) but that's only because i love them.
