The House of El
Talk about dysfunctional! Family El seemed to be as dysfunctionml as the Luthors-- um, no, I take it back no family can be as dysfunctional as the Luthors!
Clark - Nothing good ever came of leaving Clark alone for long periods of time. And it's clearer here that Clark need other people around as touch stones. Otherwise he wallows too much and starts thinking things like bringing his mom back from the dead.
"It's how you come back from the mistake that matters."
I think that's the one thing Lex doesn't know how to do, he keeps making dubious decisions.
But one thing I do like was Clark's capacity to forgive, I'm just afraid that something will happen that Lana will cross a line and that's the point of no return for both of them.
Kara - I really do like Kara in this and wow, Jimmy and surfing, huh? I'm glad she's enjoying herself. One moment I especially liked was how Kara gently admonished Clark to get some sleep, it made me believe that Kara is older than Clark.
I also don't blame Kara for trusting Zor. Until Lara she always trusted and believed in her father.
Kara has reached a heroic destiny with her decision to defend the Earth.
Although, I don't know where they're going with Amnesia!Kara.
Lara- I'm very disappointed in HS's portrayal of Lara. I was okay with her first appearance and chalked it up to HS still trying to figure out Lara. But here... I wanted Lara to be stronger, more firm. And what the hell, is she the only Kryptonian who doesn't have powers?
But it was a nice touch that Lara thought Clark was Jor-El.
Zor-El - Wow, Zor-El's really screwed up. But I liked that Zor also had a different philosophy from Jor-El. I also think Zor-El tainted the AI. All the things he spouted about ruling the Earth is almost verbatim to what the AI said.
Jor-El - We learn more about Jor-El the man. The AI and the man are really different, plus the AI is really pissed with Clark.
Lois and Chloe - We finally see the cousins together in the bullpen. I liked that their relationship didn't really suffer and Chloe is looking after Lois.
I see that Chloe is trying to cover up again but Lois is that she won't be swayed from what she thinks its right.
Lois and Grant - Talk about a trainwreck waiting to happen. They do look like they like each other. And Grant really does like Lois. I'm afraid this is just going to break her heart but I guess it has to happen.
Lex and Grant - I accidentally spoiled myself for the twist. Lex and his obsessions. I'm afraid Grant was right the first time-- he is a test tube baby. A clone of Julian. Lex's creation.
I do like that Lex is starting to realize that Lois is more than just a pain.
Okay, was I the only one that felt the slash vibes? Especially with Grant going on the 'coming out' train. Heh.
In conclusion: Overall, I felt that the episode was too rushed, there were some good moments that would have been better if the director took a breath and just slowed down.
