It's holy week here, basically, means that everyone is on holiday. Everyone but me. Work can be a real bitca.
New Amsterdam
I'm afraid, the show is slowly losing me as a viewer. I didn't enjoy the pacing of a Soldier's Heart and was, at times, actually bored by it. Something I thought was impossible to do, especially considering Orlando Jones guest starred. Orlando Jones! I had a small crush on him way back when.
As for Honor... I wasn't comfortable with their portrayal of the Indian family. I'm sure it happens but... well, the episode was uneven as it was, adding the twist didn't help the episode.
Also, in the partnership front there's not a lot going on there. Eva is, sadly, turning into generic female partner and with John finally meeting Sarah she's being pushed back more.
It's probably because I'm spoiled with Life but it doesn't do Eva's character any favors when John almost always solves the crimes alone. I want my crimefighting partners to act like a team, dammit!
Sarah and John hooking-up has reinforced my two theories:
1. Sarah isn't the One
2. John will have to undergo a hella lot more before he and Sarah are united.
Two is a foregone conclusion but I think no. 1 is more likely too.
New Amsterdam's world building is confusing me too, this coming from a girl who doesn't care about world building as long as there are shiny things to occupy my attention but I'm afraid NA's rules are too confusing to not notice.
I'll give NA two more episodes then we'll see.
Torchwood
I'm enjoying this season a lot. They've redeemed themselves from last season, which matters a lot. Last season I didn't have an opinion on Gwen much but season 2 has me re-evaluating my thoughts on Gwen.
I loved her expression with the -- 'That's a wedding ring, that is!' And you know what? I love Gwen/Rhys. I want their marriage to work. I liked Rhys from the first moment and I love him more especially with the chainsaw thing!
I skipped Out of the Rain since I kept hearing unfavorable things about it.
Ianto failing to stop the bridesmaid from screaming about the dead body was laughter inducing. Oh, Torchwood, it's comforting to see that you're still one of the more incompetent SECRET AGENCY in the world.
Much as I like Ianto's development now and the pretty that is Ianto/Jack kissage, I still don't get the logic of it. How do you go from swearing infinte death on Jack to canoodling with him after two, three episodes?
Jack, on the other hand, is getting on my nerves. And sort of brings home the point that Jack is better as someone else's second in command, than a leader. When Nine makes unilateral decisions, even Ten I believe him but when Jack does all I can think of is, 'Oh, dear he's made another bad decision, didn't he?"
BTW the 15 character meme is still on going so anyone who'd like to participate can click here
That's not to say I didn't participate in another meme... I've become a meme sheep. :)

1. Reply to this post, and I will pick five of your icons. Pick five of my icons, too, if you so desire.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon squee. Whoo!
Unfortunately, since I've only a limited number of icons I can only answer so much but hey, spread the icon squee!
Vonnie picked the following icons for me:

1. I love this shot of Reese, the lighting and her very wild hair. Such a contrast to how we first see her: very buttoned down and seemingly repressed. Also, I loved the role reversal, it's the *guy* asking Reese to call him and she's all: Yeah, whatevs. Plus, the angel talk in Fallen Woman and I couldn't not icon it.
The short of it would, of course, be: Pretty!
2. I love this icon a lot. I made it in the face of all the Martha v. Rose fanwars. I would love to have the show contradict all the fans and have Rose and Martha actually like each other. Also, I really want a Martha n' Rose cop show. Rose as the intuitive, slightly crazy, quirky cop with a mysterious past and Martha as the scientific, snarky leather wearing partner! Together they fight Crime!
I may have a thing for those kinds of partnerships, platonic or otherwise.
3. I loved O-ren Ishii a *lot*, she made a Shakespearan-in-magnitude power play to become the boss of all bosses of the Yakuza! Her henchmen wear masks! And her duel was the best thing in both movies. Plus, I think this was the first icon I created that I really loved.
4. My logic for this icon is basically: Dani + Gun + Kevlar = Teh Pretty. One of my wishlist for the second season is more kevlar and guns for our crimefighting duo because they're so pretty!
5. Eee! This one! The knife scene with the looks! I love this scene so much. After the marvelous partner choosing *and* the couch talk they gave us this scene! Every time, I watch this scene I squee.
You'd think that would fill my meme quota, huh? Apparently... not so much.
