Brief reactions to Fringe
So that's where you were all this time, Carol Hudson! (Glee joke).
Oh, that was so sad but the theme was so on point not just to Peter's situation but to the series theme for three seasons, or at least it's a theme for Walter to learn: Same with White Lily, it is hard and difficult but sometimes we have to let the people we love go. Just because Walter can cross universes to take a son that was not his, it doesn't mean he should. Just because that scientist can go back in time to save her fiancee, doesn't mean he should. Just because a person has the capability to manipulate time, doesn't mean he should.
Not if the consequences are too great and maybe that's the lesson Peter should take away from this too.
I love seeing the Fringe Division acting like a team, I loved Astrid in the field and Olivia conferencing with her team. We should see more of that.
But we didn't see a lot since somehow Peter is eating a lot of the narrative roles again.
I'm glad to see Olivia 2.0 is baffled about Peter asking her about her feelings towards dream!Peter, for once I'm glad that Olivia 2.0 has a clear lines separating herself from her alternates. A version of her might have loved him but that's another Olivia and not her. I like that Olivias have different love interests in different 'verses since that means there is no such thing as soulmates.
(I hope. Please.)
Although I am starting to think that maybe Peter really does belong in the Redverse since he has such adverse effects on the Blueverse and now the Amberverse. Peter accepting he doesn't belong to that 'verse is making me slightly optimistic, except I hope that doesn't mean we're going to reverse back to the Blue.
Other than Walter, everyone is faring better in this reality.

Date: 2011-11-12 01:42 pm (UTC)Anna Torv is doing a great job. There is this curious absence when Amber Olivia talks to Blue Peter. Whatever he has with Blue Olivia or Red Olivia, I don't think he's going to have it with Amber Olivia. But she feels more for Walter in Amberverse. I do like that and want that to stay.
I like the idea of soulmates in general. I just don't want Olivia and Peter to be soulmates. I want all the Olivias to get right with their souls on their own.
I'm not sure where Peter fits now. I'm not sure we can go back to Blue 'verse. We have spent six eps in Amber, hee Amberverse, and you're right everyone is doing better there.
Maybe it's not Peter who needs to be sacrificed. I hate to say it but maybe it's Walter. He made certain choices. Maybe it's he who has to make certain other choices in the Amberverse.
