[initial reaction] Teen Wolf 3x08

grimorieI never really meant to be fully in Teen Wolf fandom but I re-watched everything from the start again (inspired by the awesome Allison and Lydia gifsets in tumblr) and caught up with the current season.
So here goes.
Things I liked:
I really liked the older generation story. I loved how Deucelean seemed to be what Scott is now: Someone who dreamed of peace, and then bitterly betrayed by it.
I loved Talia Hale. I love that she was the leader of the Wolf clans.
At this point, they really need to show us good hunters who follow the code other than Chris and Allison because the way things are going hunters seemed to just hunt without reason. I know they had a throw away line about Ennis' wolf killed a hunter but really... We don't see anything except sociopathic hunters.
I love Stiles and Scott figuring out that Peter and Gerard are lying liars who lie, and Allison playing Gerard too.
Things I didn't like:
Everything to do with Peter and Derek. Seriously. EVERYTHING. If I was apathetic to Derek at the start before its gone to complete dislike.
Also, someone should slay Peter already and then salt his bones or something. Just go away already!

Makes a lot of sense re: characterization and plot -- and explains the 90s clothing -- even though the storytelling is still baffling; why would Peter tell a story that's a so easily discovered as a lie (and by extension outs him as a master manipulator with a like plan)?
