Check this site for a cool review gacked from Neil Gaiman's journal A Bloomsbury Coraline Review , it best expresses the things I loved about the book.
Not to forget, though, I bought two books yesterday:
American Gods by Neil Gaiman and Personal History by Katharine Graham. Personal History was a steal, a hardbound for only P99!:)
I promised myself I'd buy another Gaiman book, and lo I got!:)
Buying the books was an amusing event, I paid in coins! Yep, I busted my piggy bank and released more than six months of penny pinching to buy a book. The expression on the saleslady's face was more than consternation, and I had to look on in embarassed, apologetic but ultimately triumphant as she counted my coins. I left Powerbooks with a lighter bag and two packages:)
Also, last night I was able to step in the Presidential Yacht, Ang Pangulo, The President. It was furnished by no other than the corrupt and impeached ex-president Erap Estrade (I still can't believe he was out president *shudder*), well it's a good thing he furnished it but I hoped he'd used his own money instead. Maybe he did, maybe not.
We didn't plan on going actually, but on a last minute call on our way home from Alabang Town Center we got invited to a sort-of Modther's Day Dinner fixed by my Godmother's sister-in-law, Tita Carlett (er, ches, I think I spelled it wrong)wife of tito Jojo, current Captain of the said vessel.
There we were.
