What a really fun episode!
Messaging’s a bit of a mess though, although I suppose what they intend to say was ‘sure the system’s a mess but the way to subvert or change the system is not to blow-up thousands of people’.
Everyone was well utilized this episode! Ryan got to use his warehouse skills and also clarify his dyspraxia level, it’s not really bad but it’s enough to sometimes make learning physical stuff difficult. I suppose Daniel Radcliffe levels of dyspraxia (no, it’s true he has dyspraxia).
Yaz got to be an investigator and briefly locked down the bad guy. Also, Yaz and Graham are not the people to moderate the Doctor, they’re the ones who instantly go: LET’S DO IT DOCTOR while Ryan is content to join in.
Yaz’s compassion in the end, was really good to see and the Doctor agreeing was really good.
The Doctor, meanwhile was in fine form! Also, the way she went: ‘'Oh, I’d love one, I could add it to my collection!” when the boss guy threatened her for insubordination.
And, wow Thirteen just taking that gun away easily. She’s really not afraid of weapons being pointed at her.
I don’t know what to call the expression but she was being both very intense and insolent, and again looks to be spoiling for a fight. Also, continuing trend of Thirteen being very okay using bombs and this time the misguided nerd bad guy is a casualty but not before she warned him off and tried to give him chances.
Still, that’s a casualty in the first corner of Thirteen and she’s not happy about it but still did it. This is a slippery slope if there ever was one, I mentioned before how I thought most of Thirteen’s anti-weapons speech felt like someone whose just gone cold turkey and believed it... like a teetotaler.
I’m so sorry for Kira’s death, she was such a nice person too and kind.
So... there was an ominous pan down to the Kerblam package, so are we looking at a Satellite Five situation in series 12?

Date: 2018-11-19 07:05 am (UTC)I wish if they kept the boss man as the evil guy working with misguided Charlie. I am really hoping this'll lead to a Satellite Five situation in series 12 though, so we can catch up and see the consequences of the Doctor just letting Kerblam! operate the way it operates continue.
