It's time for the annual January Talking Meme, with a slight twist -- since it's the end of the decade!

Rules:

Day of your choice, Irina Derevko from Alias. Can be Doylist, for example: "If Lena Olin had been permanently available as an actress, would Irina have gotten a different storyline?" Or Watsonian, for example: One aspect that I've seen fandom rarely talk about is that Irina has no compunction whatsoever sacrificing the lives of people from her own organisation (that thing in the water which Vaughn nearly dies of was the result from Irina having experimented earlier, and we see two people from her Organisation die painfully of it if I recall). Basically, if you're not directly related to her, your life is fair game. Is this the result of several decades in the spy business, with or without Rambaldi factor, or was she always thus? At which point did she stop feeling loyalty to Mother Russia and went into business for herself, do you think? Did she ever consider taking Sydney with her upon her extraction, or was that a no go from the start? Or something else altogether, your choice.
