[headdesk] I had a long (for me) rambling review of DMC that LJ *ate* [bangs head again and again] I'm too annoyed to write a proper review now.
Here's the short :
I loved the movie, its just one big moment of pirate-y fun, its like the Bones pirate episode that's how I felt.
Things I liked:
- They made me like Will, he is a good man and despite some of his swashbuckling actions I don't think he's made out to be a pirate.
- The first shot of Elizabeth, in the wreckage of her wedding.
- Norrington! They didn't forget about Norrington, they gave him a plot! Now he's scruffified, he managed to out think Jack Sparrow but, oh... He's become cynical and jaded but there's still flashes of the old Norrington and that makes it more tragic whenever it does appear.
- I like Norrington's bitterness when he said, 'latest fiancee'.
- I love the quiet, gentle way Elizabeth approched Norrington and said, "What has the world done to you, James Norrington." Forget Will and Captain Jack Sparrow, Elizabeth! Norrington's more interesting!
- Loved Jack Sparrow's final stand, it was both iconic and epic
- Elizabeth's tantrum, mad swordfighting skillz and ruthlessness.
- Elizabeth's judas' kiss and Jack's proud: 'Pirate'
- Will, noble guy among pirates, still considerate to Elizabeth wrongly believing that Elizabeth and Jack are lovers.
- Davy Jones, so hurt by love he buried his heart in a chest so nothing could ever hurt him again.
-Tia Dalma, who says 'All stories are true.' I really think she's the woman Davy Jones had fallen in love with but can never have. She has her own agendas. She's powerful and without fear.
- BARBOSSA!!!
In honor of my new West Wing love, I have a Donna icon I got from the West Wing Full Lid newsletter community, unfortunately, for the life of me I can't remember who it belongs to...
