Buffy season 8 previews transcript

Okay. Obviously, obviously, season 8 Buffy comic ate my brain! And now I've written a transcript of the preview pages! Oh Em Gee!

Word of warning I know nothing about writing transcripts or comics or whatever so I just adapted whatever I saw on the net with a smidge of my own reactions. Buffy season 8! Dudes! Season 8!

Panel 1:
Big Blue Earth turning to face the sun (very much like the Universal Studios opening, heck, it might *be* the Universal Studios opening!)

Buffy (out of screen): The thing about changing the world... once you do it, the world's all different

Page 2-3 (Splash page)

Its night and there are two black helicopters hovering. The lead 'copter has its door opened and three slayers in black ops gear with Buffy in the lead jumping off the 'copter with only flimsy black ropes to hold them. Unlike the other slayers, Buffy's not in full black she's wearing pink sleeveless shirt with a vest(?), elbow coverings(?), black gloves and she's holding apparently her version of a BFG. The effect is... making me wish the artist knew what military gear is or at least saw Farscape. Couldn't they dress Buffy in space pleather instead?

Nonetheless its sorta cool.

Buffy (thoughts): Everybody calls me 'ma'am' these days.

Page 4 (3 panels)

Panel 1: The slayers are falling into what looks like a dilapidated wood house, Buffy activates the gun and presumably punches a whole into the force field surrounding the house -- hello, science! God, are they going to go the Ultraviolet (BBC version) route? Because if they are, I might possibly die of spasms of joy.

SFX: WRRRMMMSHKOW

Buffy (thoughts): There used to be one slayer in all the world.

Panel 2: Buffy disengaged from the rope, falls down with a badass expression on her face, BFG still on hand.

Buffy (thoughts): Eighteen hundred now that we've counted. Almost five hundred working with us, in ten separate squads.

Panel 3: The other 3 slayers fall behind her, passing through the force field.

Buffy (thoughts): There's even three of me.

Page 5 (4 panels)

Panel 1: We pull back and see where we are its a cemetary gone to seed, the dilapidated house looks more like a dilapidated church complete with wood panels nailed shut over the windows. The church is high up on a hill, maybe even a cliff. The slayers look small on the roof.

Buffy: Field's vaped and we're on the roof.

Out of Screen, Someone on comms says: Access should be right in front of you.

Panel 2: A slayer with real *long* red hair beckons to a window barricaded by wooden boards.

Buffy: Leah, open her up.

Buffy (thoughts): The guys figured I was a target. Set-up two other slayers to be me. One's underground. Literally.

One slayer, wearing a pink cap (?) is behind Buffy, keeping contact with the outside world, the third slayer with the short hair and blue cap is on lookout and holding something like a spear gun.

Buffy (thoughts): One's in Rome. Partying very publicly -- And supposedly dating some guy called 'the Immortal'.

Panel 3: Buffy peers into the hole Leah, the red haired slayer made, pink capped slayer is behind Buffy.

Buffy: (thoughts): That part was Andrew's idea. He did research on the guy, said it would be hilarious for some reason.

Pink cap slayer: Can't see a thing ma'am.

Buffy: Can smell a thing though.

Buffy (thoughts): Here in Command Central though not so much with the hilarious. More with the 'What the hell am I doing?'

Panel 4: Leah stares after Buffy, dumbfounded as she leaps into the opening without so much as a by-your leave prompting an astounded...

Leah: What th' hell is she doing?

Buffy (thoughts): It's not all that different though. Still got my demons. And I still got my watcher.

Aaaaah! Special Ops!Buffy sits fondly in my heart hand-in-hand with CaveSlayerBuffy and all other Buffy's quirky incarnations. But Special Ops, Special Ops! Joss gave me Special Ops Buffy! And the fact that the Immortal thing isn't true! Hah. I knew it! Knew it! *ahem*
