Brightest Stars, Life recs

God, learning about Heath Ledger's death was such a shock, of all the celebrities Heath was the furthest person I'd ever imagine dying of old age. I first saw him in 10 Things I Hate About You and absolutely loved him in it and more or less followed his career.
I don't think, I really don't think that he used sleeping pills on purpose, 'til otherwise stated by officials I think the overdose was an accident and not something he planned.
RIP, Heath Ledger. You were such a bright star.

I've been thinking about Doctor Who latetly (yes, I do think of other subjects other than Life) I haven't finished watching Voyage of the Damned yet but was spoiled for some of the events in VotD, also I've been procrastinating about watching the new Torchwood because I really can't wrap my mind around the concept of Torchwood = Good.
It's just... its the one show I love hating, y'know?
Anyway, Doctor Who, since falling for Life my interests in Doctor Who has cooled somewhat, I still like it but I've moved into a new place with Doctor Who. But, of course, I'm only saying that while its still off air, who knows how I'll react to the new season?
But can I just add how much I'm loving that Donna won't fall head over heels for the Doctor? I don't advocate the asexual Doctor by a long shot but I've grown tired of almost all the characters falling head over heels with the Doctor. I'm not just talking about the companions, I mean, everyone seems to be falling for the Doctor and while I'm all about character love there's only so much I can take.
People trusting the Doctor and saying his name and... believing in him because he can say a string of words in a manic way and no one standing up to say, 'God, that's all rubbish.' Annoy me, it's why I loved Donna's brief run and I loved, loved Jackie and I loved Joan Redfern because they call him on his BS.
I know Rose does it and Martha but I'd love for more people to be less trusting of Ten. I'd love it if he becomes more accountable for his actions.
Also, I seem to be growing an aversion to David Tennant as the Doctor because of this, yes, I know he's attractive and he looks good kissing (or being kissed) but... c'mon. I like Ten well enough but I just don't like how characters seem to be falling all over his feet, staring starry eyed at Ten's stick thin frame and glasses.
Mostly, when he goes all superior Time Lord on everyone's ass I just want to slap him silly. One of the reasons why I love the Doctor Who audio is how it shows that the Time Lords maybe so-called masters of Time but they are so very far from gods. And that the Doctor isn't perfect.
Oh, and just a reminder, folks,
pers_pineapple will have its re-watch of Life Tear Asunder - 1x02, on Wednesday.

Yeah, Dani would almost rather be back dealing with the python than be face to face with Crews’ ex-wife.
A short missing scene during Fill It Up, short but insightful take on Dani during the events in episode 11.
Makes me miss Life even more.
