Doctor Who Series 11 trailer dropped!

And of course there are some people who aren't happy about the use of the song in the trailer, which tbh, I am actually very into the song especially since the chorus fits the Doctor so well in this point of their lives:

I feel glorious, glorious
Got a chance to start again
I was born for this, born for this
It’s who I am, how could I forget?
I made it through the darkest part of the night
And now I see the sunrise
Now I feel glorious, glorious

There's also an Australian edit of the same trailer, actually here's the video:

TBH, I still prefer the original. There's a reason why orchestral music must be scored to a TV show and vibe because what happen here is a tonal shift.

This feels subdued and serious whereas the original with the song, felt fun and adventurous.

Alyssa Franke of This Week In Time Travel podcast mentioned recently that this feels like it's a hat tip to fandom's vidding subculture, and you know what? I honestly think it is!

Fanvids are made to evoke emotion and boy does this trailer hit all the feels when the lyrics of the song goes here:

I made it through the darkest part of the night
And now I see the sunrise
Now I feel glorious, glorious

This is Twelve, coming through the dark and renews into a new dawn, into glorious sunrise. They came through that dark night and into the other side. It is indicative of where the Doctor is emotionally, after everything they went through.

They’ve lost so much and couldn’t even really save the people he wanted to save, all the Doctor could do was delay the inevitable.

The song fits the trailer scenes and the emotions the show is trying to make us feel for series 11. The song in the trailer actually says something.

I was born for this, born for this
It’s who I am, how could I forget?

My absolute heart. How can anyone dislike this song when it fits the Doctor so perfectly?
