Listmaking is addicting
Jul. 5th, 2010 12:15 amA few days ago I offered to rec a few episodes to help
tearful_eye get into Fringe and I thought I'd share my little handy guide!
There are three things I tell my friends whenever I rec Fringe:
1. Fringe is about Olivia Dunham. I mean, yes, there are Walter (who makes the other half of the show for me), Peter, Astrid, Nina Sharp and Broyles but mostly, it's about Olivia Dunham and her BAMF self.
Olivia is kickass, stoic, sensible (in dress and manner), team leader. In every sense of the word, she's the one who has the insights and the person who moves the action and as we later find, she's at the very center of the ongoing conspiracy.
2. Don't watch the second episode of season 1. Just don't.
3. It took a while for Fringe to find its legs but once it did..! Oh, boooy. /Sam Beckett.
There's something for every sci-fi fan out there (except, I advise you not to think about the science. The skience will only leave you with a headache the size of Manhattan!)
Addendum: Don't watch episode 2 of season 1. I'm really serious about this one.
( Handy Guide to Fringe Season 1 )
There ya go! And if I somehow messed-up the episodes or missed one you can poke me! I like talking about Fringe!

Embedded Lance Reddick interview in the Saturn Awards:
( Season 2 and 3 spoilery embedded video )
Two things:
1. Lance Reddick in glasses!!!Elevent-y one! And so very different from Broyles (or Lt. Daniels!).
2. He's a fan of Star Trek: Voyager! *g* He is One of Us!
There's also an interview of Anna Torv and she mentions William Gibson! Hee. I love that the cast are such geeks! Most of all, I love how she's defending alt!Olivia. It's true, alt!Olivia isn't evil! She's just operating under the assumption that the other universe is evil!

Castle! I'm watching again! Sort of. This show fell off my radar, one the many casualties while I was mourning Life. I'm watching the show through my local cable and sporadically at that... I think I will be mainlining soon.
The second episode I watched was Tick, Tick, Tick and OMG! What an episode to (sort-of) start with! I forgot how fun this show was! Also, Dana Delany is an awesome guest star!
